International Conference on Tourism and Marine Tourism - TMT 2017

On the morning of August 1, 2017, at Hall 10, Ton Duc Thang University, the International Conference on Tourism and Tourism - TMT 2017 was officially opened. The workshop was co-organized by Ton Duc Thang University with Penghu National University of Taiwan, attracting the participation of many scientists, experts and students from UK, Austria, Australia, USA, Canada, Mongolia, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

TMT 2017 is a forum for discussing the socio-economic impacts of tourism in general and marine tourism in particular among researchers, practitioners, tourism businesses, etc. in Vietnam and all over the world. This event offered lessons on marine tourism model development, visitor experiences; Encouraging education and environmental protection, the impacts of tourism development on the socio-economic and life of local residents; The need of the community for sustainable tourism development. The workshop featured 18 papers, covering sustainable tourism and world tourism potential. Accepted papers will be published into the Proceedings of the TMT 2017 Conference, with ISBN 978-0-9945391-2-0 from the Australian ISBN Agency, published by Ton Duc Thang University.

This is the first international conference in the field of tourism at Ton Duc Thang University, promoting the improvement of the quality of international research and publication in the field of social sciences and humanities.

The International Conference on Education and Social Integration - ICESI 2016

The International Conference on Education and Social Integration – ICESI 2016 is officially opened at Ton Duc Thang University in the morning of 11th August 2016. This conference is set within this day with the participation of many scientists, experts, and researchers coming from the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Australia, Iran, the Philippines… and Vietnam.

Meeting with the delegation from the National United University and the National Penghu University of Science and Technology Taiwan

On September 7th 2015, Faculty of Social Sciencies and Humanities, Ton Duc Thang University organized a meeting with the delegation from the National United University (NUU) and the National Penghu University of Science and Technology Taiwan (NPU) (Mr. Liang-Han Chang was the head of delegation). The purpose of this business trip for visit and encourage cooperation between the National United University and Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU). It is also a part of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities objectives in expanding cooperation programs with international partners.

Meeting with Professor Edward Miller – Associate Professor of History

On August 22nd 2015, Faculty of Social Sciencies and Humanities University of Ton Duc Thang organized a working session with Professor Edward Miller – Associate Professor of History. He is a historian of American Foreign Relations and modern Vietnam, with special expertise in the Vietnam War.  Prof. Miller is interested in the ways in which political and military conflicts in Vietnam and the rest of Southeast Asia after 1945 were also conflicts over ideas—especially ideas about development, nation building, and sovereignty.

On Mon, 10th August, Faculty of Social Sciences & Humanities had a meeting with Professor Dennis. F. Berg - professor and chair of sociology from University of Fullerton, California, America.

Workshop on Climate change

HCMC is the largest city in Vietnam, and is therefore vulnerable to climate change impacts such as sea level rise and extreme weather events, which lead to flooding and tropical storms as well as drought. Moreover, high population and economic activities in this city also make HCMC more vulnerable to climate change that threatens the society, the economy and the environment. Therefore, it is important to improve student’s knowledge about climate change and encourage students to participate in activities to oppose the global warming.
